Acceptable Use Policy
AboutClarkston is an open forum for the discussion of local issues. No articles will be edited or removed, except under the following circumstances:
Articles containing profanity, obscene language or references will be edited with the offensive language removed. Any user who finds material posted by another user objectionable is encouraged to contact a Moderator or Forum Admin via email or Private Message.
Articles of an obviously libelous nature will be removed or edited, as will articles which advocate or pose a threat against any individual, or encourage the commission of an illegal act, except those acts commonly considered to be acts of civil disobedience. AboutClarkston will assist law enforcement in the prosecution of any criminal act advocated or occurring on this board.
Periodic maintenance on the list will require the removal of older articles or topic threads which have generated little or no interest. Articles that contain coding which may compromise the proper function of the forum will also be edited or deleted.
Posts promoting a business, whether directly or by reference, are considered `off-topic` and may be removed.
The Moderator staff of AboutClarkston is the sole determiner of what article content is subject to these guidelines. We are authorized by you to remove or modify any data submitted by you to these forums for any reason we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated, implied or not.
Neither the Administrators of these forums, nor the Moderators participating, are responsible for the privacy practices of any user. Remember that all information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to share any of your personal information. For more information about our privacy practices, please read our Privacy Policy, published elsewhere in this forum.
This site may contain links to other web sites and files. We have no control over the content of another site and can not ensure that it will not be offensive or objectionable. We will, however, remove links to material that we feel is inappropriate as we become aware of them.
Users under the age of 13 are welcome; however, our younger users must have permission of a parent or guardian to register. The account of any user found to have violated this requirement will be terminated and a parent or guardian notified, if possible. In any event, it is the responsibility of parents to supervise their children's online activities. AboutClarkston may not be held responsible for any injury arising out of a violation of this policy.
Your Agreement
While the administrators and moderators of the AboutClarkston Forums will attempt to remove or edit any objectionable material as quickly as possible, it may be impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not AboutClarkston.com, its Forum Administrators, Moderators or Webmaster (except for posts by those individuals) and hence will not be held liable.
By visiting this site, posting an article and/or registering you agree that you have read and understand, and agree to be bound by our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy, published elsewhere in this forum.
Specifically, you agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to your account being limited, suspended or permanently banned. Where appropriate, your ISP may be notified.
You agree that any information you may enter or have entered may be stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent AboutClarkston.com, its Webmaster, Forum Administrators and Moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.
