How to Join a User Group
Some of AboutClarkston`s discussion forums are private-- open only to folks in a particular club, homeowners association or interest group. You must be pre-approved by the moderator of that User Group to enter.
AboutClarkston will host your group`s discussion forum for free-- more on that later. First, here's how you join a User Group:
1. You must be a registered and active user to join a User Group.
2. Log into AboutClarkston using your user name and password.
3. Click on `User Groups` at the top. On the next page, select a user group from the drop-down list and click `View Information.`
4. On the next page, click `Join Group.` Membership must be approved by that User Group`s Moderator.
5. Check back later or wait on the confirmation email. If, upon logging in you are able to click on and view your chosen private forum in the `Special Interests` section, you've been welcomed into the group!
** Note: Some user groups are `hidden;` you can't see them in the `Special Interests` forum section until you join.
Free Forum for Your Group
Discussion forums can be a great way to encourage communication on important issues in the community. For clubs and other small organizations, an online forum can be an important key to the group's growth.
AboutClarkston can host your group's own private discussion forum-- for free! All you need is a moderator and a group of people who want to talk!
Send us an email at forums@aboutclarkston.com -- tell us about your group and we'll help you figure out whether or not a free, private AboutClarkston forum is right for you! |
